I went through a tsunami when I visited Thailand with my family.
More than 240,000 people died in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
As a result of the awful horrors of the tsunami, I learned how precious my life is. It was a life-changing moment.
I have arrived at a better understanding of how things affected my life.
That experience changed me and influences my artwork a lot.
As a graphic design major, I work hard to develop “something” that is simple but powerful at the same time.
Part of my process before I begin a new project is to experience as much inspiration as I can from books, movies and online sources.
I begin a piece by recording what I feel from the inspiration.
I love learning something new. There is no specific material or tool I am stuck in. I really like to try as many materials as I can.
Currently I enjoy using gouache and cutting paper.
That is why I just started learning calligraphy. I am excited to integrate it to my Hangul Project.
